Youth Civic Engagement Symposium

One of Erie Together's top priorities is to help more kids grow up to be successful adults. Something we know that leads to success - for both people and for places - is civic engagement, or getting involved in your community. That’s why several years ago we began working with US Senator Pat Toomey’s Office and Gannon University to host an annual Youth Civic Engagement Symposium planned around Constitution Day each year.

Our goal for this event is to help students understand what local, state and federal governments do, and how they are run through the executive, legislative and judicial branches. Our intent is for students to walk away with a better understanding of how government operates, and to be excited about becoming civically engaged through voting, running for office, working within the public sector and/or volunteering.
